Default Evening on the Dry Fly

Thirty fish taken on an evening on the Upper Bann. Dry fly with an Adams variation on the 3wt. Best near 2 pounds and three around pound and a half, lost a residant fish of three pounds, smashed on 3 pound leader on my favourite pool. Oh well maybe next week. A nice jack pike on a pink streamer on the way home just for good measure.

First time I've seen pike rising to take daddy long legs off the surface, while others rounded up a school of bait fish... fantastic to watch.

If you've fished it loads and loads cromie why would a seasoned veteran, ask for directions.

It's the Upper Bann between Banbridge and Rathfriland and great thing is no bait muppets.

Cheers,

J.

Nice fishing Joey.

I just got off the phone with a few friends that are fishing the Corrib. They have one trout around 6 and a half dozen average size. They are rising trout every where around Inchagoill all to the daddies. Also a trout was lost yesterday around the double figure mark again to the daddy. The boys aint liars so the old girl seems to be coming back, I will be there Sunday and should stay for a week so im crossing my fingers the fishing holds, thank god this is my last week of work!!!

Joe but i have only been to the newferry part with my dad over 100 times for bream and you can't really fly fish there. Do you need chest waders and i will ask my dad does he know where it is?

No Crommie chest waders aren't neccesary, but thigh waders or boots are a must. Ask your dad I'm sure he'll know the river up from Banbridge.
Tie a few nymphs and you'll be flyin.

Goodluck,

J.
