Default River Tummel pics from 24hr session

Had afew days on the tummel at the start of the week , great river and fished it for the first time . crystal clear but very low water level , fished for 24 hrs , sleeped for 6hrs then out again for another 6 hr session . It was a great night session , we waited in the bothy until there was no colour left in the trees and targeted sea trout. it was a full moon wish was against us but we only ever hit a fish when the moon was out from behind clouds. Nearly fell asleep a couple of times but packed up when i was starting to feel unsteady in the water due to tiredness

hit 21 brownies , the biggest is the 1 at the bottom .... the rest weighed less thn my packet of fruit pastels . Never even saw a big fish ..... except a couple of salmon in pitlochry .

Really enjoyed it and it was a great fishermans dream of a night . BRILLIANT

I know those sections of the Tummel well - lovely water - sounds like you had a nice time!

Looks like the wee hut just down from the caravan park. The rest of the stretch down to the railway crossing at Mullinearn?Excellent bit of water if at times a little on the difficult side.Nice pictures.

I also recognise the streams, having fished them many times. Trout of a decent size seem to be a rare breed in the Tummel and thats with three of us fishing that beat for many years.

As you found out many small fish. Between three of us we must have caught 13-15 in a morning session and they were all around the 7 -9" mark. No doubt there will / should be bigger ones in there, but where they hole up is any ones guess.

But for scenic fishing and a whole range of cracking pools, hard to beat.

Marky was all the rubbish in the hut when you were there? I finnished my 2 week holiday fishing the area at the hut as was digusted at the ribbish someone's left behind them. Again like yourself great fun catching loads of small fish, I did turn 1 of the better fish on the far bank in front of the hut but never set the hook.
