I would love to be able to get some decent close up and in focus shots of recently tied flees. I have a Panasonic lumix FZ7 bridge camera any tips on settings and simple set ups to acheive what I am after?. Would appreciate tips on how to get best out of camera.

I just switch my olympus point and shoot to the macro (flower) setting.

I have an F27 and I can take insect closeups without a tripod so this camera is great for carrying about. Buy yourself a set of closeup filters from fleebey about £10 you get 4 filters +1, +2, +4 and macro +10 these work for me. Its cheaper than buying a macro lens for my canon or Pan G1.
Hope that helps

One thing, you will have to practice focusing by moving yourself closer and away from the subject until the focus is found.

The one thing that will help massively is getting a tripod or a stack of books and puting your camera on self timer. This gets rid of camera shake and providing you have focused correctly you will end up with a pin sharp image. The camera you have is a very good point and shoot, just make sure you have the macro setting selected.

good luck
