Default photo resizing software

i've got loads of photos which i need to resize (file sizes) and upload online some for this forum and some for emails. the problem is a lot of the images have really large file sizes as they were taken with a higher res camera.

what i'm looking for is the best FREE software that i can use to resize them as a batch or full folder. i know i can do it in in ms paint but that's very time consuming as it's fidley and each photo needs to be done individually.

i'm looking for software and not websites as they are also quite fidley.

hope someone can help. thanks folks.

There will be something on Cnet for this. I got something from there when I needed to do the same thing.

It was some time ago. Much memory eraser since

Batch size or something...

A very quick trick is to select all the pics in question, right click and email...

Email them to yourself, and select the option during the process to resize smaller. When thecemail comes back in, just save all in a fresh folder.

If you run Windows, by far the best tool for this is the Image Resizer. You select all the pictures you want, right click, and click resize pictures. You can resize and keep the originals in the same file, or resize and replace. Very easy to use.

A typical resize would be from a 4MB higher res image, to a 200KB lower res, quick to upload image.

Image Resizer for Windows

I cannot rate this free quick tool highly enough!
