After last weeks success at Tinto myself, Edd and Colin went back to Tinto for an evening session last night in search of more big Browns. Started on the bottom Loch (Loch Lyoch) as we saw plenty fish moving, and within 5 minutes Colin had a lovely hard fighting Blue of around 3lb. I then had a Rainbow of around 2lb, then a few minutes later had a much better fish wish turned out to be this beauty;

It went sraight back to fight another day;

Edd had a Rainbow of around 2.5lb, then it went a bit quiet so we decided to move to the top loch (Loch Cleugh) to try for more Browns. Not a fish moving anywhere and with no offers we worked our way round the Loch, until i got to a small bay with a spring. I saw a fish top'n'tail and cast over it a few times, then it moved again further out. I cast at it once more then...thump!!!

. After 20 minutes hard scrapping and down to the backing several times i landed this beast;

Easliy the my best Brown ever at approx 6lb, it went straight back to into the bay.

All my fish were caught on the same fly, one of Craig Barr's Diawl bachs and all on a 5wt rod which was great sport.
Colin managed another couple of Rainbow's on the bottom Loch before we all called it a night.
Thanks to Tinto for their superb fishing that they offer, and to Edd and Colin for their great company as always, on which for me was a very memorable night indeed.
Cheers Diarmid.
