Hi Guys
I only caught my first river fish on as dry fly last friday ! and then not on my local river, i caught a few more fish on the dry on sunday but again not on my local river. Monday i fished the Carron and failed to catch on the dry

very frustrating indeed !
Tonight i ..................."Finally" caught my first fish on the River Carron on the dry fly

And it was worth the wait ! The fish was returned to fight another day.......
I started off this afternoon with a black Klink , then a balloon caddis, i rose ok but only small ones and i just could'nt hook them or keep them on

I got very frustrated, then stuck a klink into my hand right up to the body of the fly

glad i fish barbless
Finally gave up on drys and swung wets taking three fish, later on i decided to play with drys again, in a large long flowing pool, i thought the orange post on my klink might put off the fish so i used a more natural fly , which proved very popular indeed rising lots of small trout snapping at the fly but i couldnt hook em ! apart from one about 3" which i shoot right out of the pool into the run behind me
Then casting to a gentle rise in the middle......... a rise i struck and the little 7 foot 3wt buckled over

super fight fish tore up the pool. Im slowing getting the hang of this dry fly caper but alot to learn !
Im sorry to say i cant remember what the flys called i caught it on

or where i got it from

anyone help ?
