Default Macro Photos

Hi Guys

I have a Fuji Finepix s1500 and i'm having problems with taking Macro pictures of flies . Looking for help with settings.
Does anyone use this camera can you help please?

Looking good Edd, it does need some better lighting though, try taking the same shot outside when slightly overcast. You should see a lot of difference. you should be able to go as close as 2cm with that camera too, not suggesting you should, but it has the capabilites to go that close.

If you really want to get crazy, look into building a light box. You can just use a vinegar jug, cut a hole in the bottom, slip it over the vice. Then put a lamp right next to it, and tape a piece of blue construction paper to the back. It will make a big difference, in the clarity of the picture, and it will be a lot easier to focus the camera on a small fly without the background clutter.
