Default Great weather we're having

Went out yesterday just to actually get out more than anything even though the weather wasn't the best and I caught nothing, it was one of the best days I've ever had.

The mate I was with isn't great with a fly rod so chose another method but as his picture wasn't taken from a distance, you get an idea of how badly it was snowing.

By the way, the water was less than warm, I forgot to bring base layer and warm trousers for under the waders

Nice. I love standing in the river while snow comes down

Welcome to Winter Steelhead fishing in the PNW. Fishing just a week ago (here in Southern Oregon of all places) and the snow flakes were the size of silver dollars.

Amazing how a good snow fall can 'absorb sound.' Weird stuff, but that's 'Mother Nature." Bless her heart.

Bye the Bye, Blue Jeans (sp?) are a 'no-no' under waders. Get wet? Take HOURS to dry out ... and weigh a ton if you've gone for an "unscheduled bath."

Blue jeans it was , luckily I never had an unscheduled bath and the deepest I went was top of the thigh. Usually that stretch of the river is ankle deep for the most part.

Weird thing is it snowed pretty much all day yesterday but the day before and today was clear blue skies and really quite warm. Good old British weather

All in all though and I'll say it again, close to the best days fishing I've ever had.
