You don't need the software to get the pictures from the camera. Just plug the usb lead into the camera and laptop and use Windows Explorer to get them. Either that or put the card from the camera into the card reader slot in the laptop, if it has one, or a card reader and download them that way. The software as far as I can see is Canon's own photo manipulation suit and you can use any of the proprietary ones for that.

Jon, Sandy's solution will work no problem. In terms of the software disc, you are in luck, I have a spare. If you want it PM me your address and I'll get it in the post. It's for windows xp, so if you are running Vista or 7 you may need to download the updater from the canon website.

With your camera connected you should be able to see the device when you open "my computer". You should be able to view your pictures there. Also you should be able to drag and drop them to another folder.

Worth checking that your camera is set to PC and not print in the camera menu.
If you want that disc, just let me know.

I'm not 100% certain Eddie, but I'm pretty sure you'd need the camera driver before it would be recognised in windows explorer. You'll find the driver and everything else on the Canon 350D support page Jon. Just state the correct operating system and language in the drop down box and hit 'search'.

I can't say I remember having to do that with any of my cameras. Windows just sees it as a USB storage device and treats it as such in explorer. I use IrfanView to download from the camera, or the card if it is in a reader.

You have me thinking now. Most drivers are automatically installed by Vista / 7 at least I thought they were.

Anyway, I had a spare disc for the EOS 350d which I've posted to Jon, so this should sort the issue out, I hope
