Seems to be problems with noise in the pics and generally poor image quality, Camera is about 3 yrs old now. Probably why the bay starting price is at 20 quid and not showing much interest. Here is a couple of reviews on the camera, not too impressive. Click Here & Here at Dpreview . I'm sure you could get a far superior camera for your 300 quid.

Canon make the best compacts - look up the Canon s95. I used it's predecessor the s90 which was absolutely brilliant. The new version is not much dearer. I know that other compacts are cheaper and offer more megapixels (of lower quality) and bigger zoom ranges but this is a much better camera.

The only problem with noise is low light conditions. If you are looking for a quality camera at under £50 quid for taking pictures of flies, and that's what you stated, take a look at forum member: scratch threads on buzzers taken with a samsung NV7 here: http://www.flyforums.co.uk/fly-fishi...rs-2010-a.html

Purchase a Samsung NV5 or NV7 for under £50 quid, in many cases, on eBay they go for around £30 quid. Get a tripod and a light kit.

Er, I dont believe I stated 50 quid anywhere in my posts neither did the original poster, he/she said they had a budget of 300 quid. I merely pointed out the NV has noise problems which reviews will show, and could get a better quality camera in his/her budget range.

Welcome, and goodbye, to the forum 'pippity pip pap'.

Was 'pap' short for Paparazzo? Perhaps your next stay will be rather longer.
