The biggest problem Hardy face is that they have not developed this "technology"
As a result they are underdog
It is only a question of time before Hardy get bought out.
Like Rover.

By announcing this now: that they will revolutionise their rods in 2011, doesn't it disincentivise sales for this year?

The trouble I have when I look at the Hardy website, is just the bewlidering choice (let alone if you consider Hardy and Greys) of rods.
They even have competing products, for example, won't the mid-priced Uniqua compete with the Grey's Streamflex?

Also, look at their categories, 'Performance', 'Classic' and 'Heritage' - does that mean 'Classic' rods aren't performant.

They should have a look at the Sage website. Sage seem to have a much clearer idea of how to present a range of fly rods.

(Oh and my pet peeve: Marksmann may be a great rod, but why do they insist on putting a stupid 'bling' reel seat, that seems designed to store mud and grit.)

Hi Bloke –

I red somewhere that Richard Sanderson was once the MD at Mattel toys and Black ‘n’ Decker, so I would of thought Hardys would be a breeze for him?

I should think he has to do what his bosses at Harris & Sheldon Group Limited tell him to do. I'm not sure if it is still controlled by the Miller family, but at least their old chairman used to be a fanatical fisherman. In fact, I heard that the only reason he bought the old loss making House of Hardy was so he could get his hands on the Junction Pool at Kelso.

regards,

Doc

lol!

Although, my old Gem Mk1 (9'6" for an 8) is still going strong!
