Talking Result!

I would like to thank all the competitors who came to fish the Arthur Cove Memorial Competition. And a big thank you to all the sponsors and donors who made it possible.
The aim of the Competition was to raise enough money to buy a memorial bench to be placed at Eyebrook. Sadly the match did not attract many competitors, nine fished in the end! However we have raised enough money, so a bench will be purchased.
The excess prizes will be auctioned as not enough anglers entered.
Now to the results! One fish was caught on what was an extremely hard day at the fishery. Even the boats were not catching.
James Clark, Arthur's grandson won it with a single Rainbow of 2lb 5oz from the dam. If Arthur was looking down on us he would of been very proud of James. And told us we "weren't doing it right".
I would like to add that organising a competition is a rollercoaster and at times makes you wonder why you tried. However most of the manufacturers and companys i contacted were fantastic and very supportive. And give me hope for the future of our sport.
