I think you miss the point, the glasses are limited edition collectors pieces for owners of the new £225,000 Bentley Mulsanne only - just 100 pairs will be made and each will be stamped with its own unique number - being snapped up by the Dubai Royal family and super rich Chinese businessmen - however other models are available in 18-carat yellow gold, rose gold or white gold at a more affordable £6,400. They look very nice and I'm sure any decent Bentley dealership will throw a couple of pairs in gratis. In that case better value than my titanium 'Maui Jims'
I understabd sales are ‘exceeding expectations’, particularly in Hong Kong, China and Russia. So far, 25 of the platinum version have been sold and a further 70 of the gold editions.
The sunglasses are scheduled to go on sale in the UK at the end of this year.
Bentley has defended its product as an example of supreme ‘craftsmanship’ and exclusivity. Good for them, the cars of course are made in Crewe, Cheshire.
