Default UK film maker captures the mayfly

Check out this article and the link to an excellent fly fishing film trailer showing footage of head riverkeeper of Broadlands, Jon Hall, fishing the mayfly recently on the Test.

Lovely snippet of film, thanks

Scroll down and also take a look at the clip called The Shadow of the Town Bridge.

Both the above are lovely, thanks. Stunning, hard fighting river pike in that second one. The Lady of the Stream is worth watching too - waggler rather than stick float for grayling.

Now that's got me thinking about putting a bend in that rod I bought for piking this winter

I had to turn the music off! Didnt like it at all. I would much rather have heard the sounds of the river.

OK OK, trust you to spot that! It was just at the start, the fixed spool reel, overhead cast and initially it looked like the top of a waggler....but you're right, its clearly a stickfloat now I've watched it again Specsavers don't make 'em thick enough for me....

There are way too many twee and pretty videos out there covering that style you describe - my point in supporting this is that they have not been afraid to break the mould and be more creative. Of course music is always going to be down to personal taste but I know what has been successful elsewhere and I believe this will go down particularly well with our younger fly market and overseas precisely because of this approach.
