Do you mean the city Rouen with its 400 000 inhabitants in Normandy ? If that's a village, what is a city for you ?

Anyway, some fly fishing possibilities, with fisheries and rivers as well, it depends of the season.

Some areas are described on that web site : http://mouches.free.fr/pagesfr/Visites/htnor.htm

If you're interested I'll give you informations concerning other still waters around Evreux (30mn far from Rouen).

Hi Naveur, I wonder if you have any information about fly fishing rivers or lakes for trout near Bergerac?

Thanks.

Mark.

Some possibilities around Bergerac for Black bass.

But the top is on river Dordogne wich a hot spot for grayling / trout dry fly fishing. Best places are between Beaulieu and Argentat (in Corrèze), wich are not that far from Bergerac.

A wide river (more than 100 meters width), and the best period is spring, autumn, and then summer at the end of the day. Unfortunately, in autumn due to water level quick change, fishing is sometimes unpossible.

Other spots :
- river Coly : ultra clear water, and very very shy trout. Honesty if you're not good on nymphing "on sight" with very long leaders, let's forget it.
- river Corrèze with 3 catch & release spots around Brives and Tulle (with wild brownies and rainbows),
- 2 fisheries with rainbows when fishing in river is not permitted, but I have to check my informations for further details.

That's not a real problem as the temperature of the water coming from the dam upstream remains cool.

During hot summer days fish don't rise, the only things on the surface are canoes. You have to wait the beginning of evening to see grayling / trout rising. But nymphing during the day is worth trying.
