Default Lough Sheelin

Hi everyone, sorry to post this thread here but I thought it might get some attention. I was think of fishing Lough Sheelin before the season's end. Just looking for some advice on it?

Is it a good call or would anyone recommend anywhere else?

Many thanks......

It is certainly worth a throw. But as said it is not an easy lough but it does reward effort.
It has fished well almost all season right from the first of march with the previous 2 weeks fishing good again with a few heavy fish. One around 8lb.

I was out today and had 3, the heaviest around 3lb all on the dries but had to come off it early.

Check the regional fishery reports.

Owel might also be worth a chuck.

Sheelin is always worth a throw. Can be a little dour at times but the rewards make it worth it. Has fished well all year. Hope to get out on it tomorrow.

i was out on sheelin yesterday 3rd oct, it was slow enough for me, very bright at times, too bright, not many signs of fish moving. I rose one very good fish close to the boat and i got a good look at him. I would say the fish was in the 6-8lb range but he did not want to play not many boats on the lough.

got a few off it myself but like all other loughs weather is vital and the weather is just terrible at the moment sun and strong east wind the worst trout fishing conditions ever.

The sun i dont mind but the wind does my head in twice i had my buzzer fishing ruined with the strong winds especially in the evening its gets to cold once the sun sets. Weather changing from thursday with winds easing, hopefully fishing will improve
