Default Crofts in FF+FT

Just wondering if anyone can advise. In my pursuit of greater knowledge of entomology, I'm looking for back edition info on FF+FT.

Stuart Crofts and another guy wrote some great articles about GISS and entomology a few years ago, describing how the important insects flew, life cyle, imitations etc.

I remember the articles being quite innovative and different.

Can anyone remember when they were, or what the editions were?

Perhaps the FF+FT office may have some old ones in stock.

Tks

That'll be Dave Calvert from Keswick. He's a member of the same fishing club as me. Good anglers the both of them. I think you're looking about 2004-ish.

What Stuart doesn't know about entomology isn't worth knowing. I spent a few hours with him last year and it was the most educational time I've ever spent at the waterside. Top bloke to boot!

Also Crofts does entymolgy for anglers workshops in summer, organised by the FBA and riverfly partnership. They were booked out really early this year so there is a possibility of more venues and dates next year. Details will be posted on the forum as soon as dates come up.
The other alternative if you are in a club is to book Stuart to come and give one of his talks. We have had him back at our club 3 times now. A typical day is; A slide show and talk through, a sampling session down the river, talk about the insect found and patterns to cover them, and then a demonstration on the river of some of the techniques covered. Then more talk. yak yak yak caddis caddis caddis.
It's a very full on day which cost the club just over £200 including the village hall, for 15 guys. How cheap is that!
On the back of that success we have had two fly tying days with him.

This year we had Paul G of the forum do an open day and that was another really good day ( actually I over booked so it was two days), The guys are still talking about it and though I knew Paul was a good talker, i never realised the depth of his knowledge. He made a real hit with the guys who attended.

If you have some river near and a venue its worth thinking about... if you posted it on the forum you would fill your places in no time.( I am not allowed to publicise ours.... club politics!)

Meanwhile keep an eye on the entymology thread and I will post open days and courses as i find out about them.

Hi Spider,

The series by David Calvert and Stuart Crofts was March 2003 thru August 2003.
I cut them out and kept but for some reason I'm missing the June one.
