My brother in law found this rattling around his conservatory.
It is a fly of some type, I thought a drone fly but it is huge!!!
It is easily 22-28mm long and very heavy set with it.
Can anyone help with it ID?

Looks like one of the Horse-flies, Tabanidae, same family as Clegs. They bite
