Default Help on naming this fly

There was a very large hatch of these today and the fish were fixed on them and the river was alive with rising fish. I thought it was a B.W.O but don't they have only two tails and not three.Click the image to open in full size. Click the image to open in full size.

Thanks

Default B.W.O.

Blue Winged Olive Serratella ignita without any doubt (nice pics).

Three tails is one of the main identifying features in the British Isles.

Thanks for putting me straight on that Ephemerella
There was a mixed bag of flies today but the biggest hatch was the B.W.O. I only had my camera on me and not the rod. Its always the same
Here are a few photos of the rises that i took when they were picking them off. Just wish i had my gear with me.

Nice strong rise images!

I think part of the confusion comes from the fact that American literature has their Blue Winged Olive (a Baetid) as only having two tails.

There are fourteen Serratella species in North America, including the various dark Hendricksons, which all have three tails, just like ours.

Thanks for the good info Its much appreatated.

There were some really nice fish moving today and even fish jumping right out of the water for the flies. When you see days like today with fish rising everywhere its makes you think how many fish your flies and nymphs pass when fishing these spots without a take. It can be quite annoying at times but that fishing
