Was that a sedge ?
Dont laugh boys. On my regular river, i rarely, if ever see sedges, so i'm no expert, hence the question.
On another river, with which i am just becoming familiar ( The Mulcair, Abingdon area, Limerick ) , there was a lot of fly life yesterday evening ( including some huge looking duns - mayflies at dusk ? ) , but the fly that i caught most regularly by hand had flat opaque wings on its back ( not roof shaped like a sedge ) , mid green with a light green ball at end of tail, three sets of legs ( short ) , and two small antennae.
Does this qualify as a sedge ? I'm thinking not.....any ideas ?
(More to the point, why would the little sods not take my green klink ? )
