Last year the local service station late in the evening had absolute swarms of them all over the lights and counter for one night only.
On the night in question this year.. the previous saturday, we must have had a huge hatch as the spiders webs were chocked with them on sunday morning and they hadn't been there the previous dusk.... but it was one night only.
I then found out that they had hatched en masse on the Don and the Wharfe the same night and was trying to find out if it was just in a few locations or whether it happened nationwide.
I need to stay out later!
