Default Any ideas ??

Hi Guys

I was out on a Loch on saturday loads of what looked like little Black "sedge shaped" things everywhere. Not sure what they are ??

And i was wondering if the fish were feeding on there emerger/pupa ?? But not knowing what they are not sure what fly pattern to used ???

Any ideas ???

Absolutely no idea what the trout were actually feeding on - but congrats on your 1,000 post !

It could have been the Alderfly, it's the right time of year for them, I've never seen fish feeding on the fly but I'm not sure about the pupa/emerger.

Almost definately Alders mate... they look very sedgey and are often seen in their thousands. As has been mentioned, it's bang on the right time of year too.

Wondering if they were silver horns?....where they in swarms along the shore??
