Default Proper Sedge

None of your "8 mm" ..."15 mm" here !!

OK can you please give me info on these , are they the same species as each other ??? I think they are . Is it male and female ?? If so who is the bigger , female ???

Also one of them left this green object in the container I had them in . It looks like it is made of little green balls and I assuming it is the egg sack and not just Sedge ****

I think I might have cooled them down for too long as they have not woken up yet ...

Cheers

Not sure what species it is but this should cover it. Note green egg sack.

Nice looking pattern Sharkey, how do you go about tying one....? there looks to be two separate bunches of deer/elk in there.

Thanks for the answers ( so far )

What I am a little confuddled about is the fact we have a LOT of very big sedge hatching at the moment . Some in the day time , some at night . While they sort of look alike they can look very different at the same time if that makes any sense ?? I don't know if they are different species or just wide colour variation
I will try and get some different samples today/tonight and post them in here later ................

Cheers Wee Jimmy,

Not sure I dare answer this in the entomology section. It's one I invented for Greenock's Hog Swap recently. Glo-brite tag with 2mm glass seed bead zap-a-gapped and allowed to dry before you start. Three small bunches of deer hair tied in from the back (one like a tail) with the green dubbing rope brought up in between. Leggier brown seals fur for the thorax. Elk hair antennae (make a whip finish very fiddly!).

Apologies if I offended anyone. I was 'induced to take' by the green egg sack. I'll skulk back to my lie at the foot of the pool again.
