Default Please simplify flies for fishing

Hi all, i'm new to fly fishing but love it. My problem is the same as many other novices, I have a shed load of flies that I have bought second hand and at boot sales.
I would dearly love to know which natural fly they represent and at what time of year to use them.
My idea is to try to catalogue them so I can find the right fly at the right time, I was hoping there might be some literature I could find to help me do this.
I hope there is someone here who can help me.
