Default Black Gnat

Here's a shot of a black gnat from today. There were loads getting blown onto the river, often in consumating clumps, and the trout were fixated on them. True to Pat's 'Matching the Hatch' description (p106), they were mainly over slower water, with the trout in faster water taking olives instead.

Matt and I saw a few the other night on the Eden Bruce, I hope they come on thick and fast, these trout need waking up.
