Good job it's now May; so we can say "Large Brook Dun" with some confidence.

Five weeks ago I might have 'guessed' March Brown.

Have a look at the speck of a sub-imago resting on my MG badge avatar for another LBD.

Thanks very much. How do you know the difference between the L.B.D and the March brown. I was looking at a few photos and it looks just like the March brown. Whats the difference There were also pale watery olives coming of the water 2 but i couldn't get one for a photo Im going to see if there any about tomorrow for a photo

Brook Duns are a bit bigger than March Browns, not so sure just because its May you can rule it out being a March Brown, they are still hatching round my way but who cares, as long as you have some march brown patterns in your box

This is a true March Brown taken from the Eden at Easter. The giveaway is the dark blotch on each of the insect's femurs which is only present in members of the rithrogena species. If this is absent then you are likely looking at a brook dun/autumn dun.

hope this helps,
