Default I found this in the bath tub today! Any idea what species

Hi all

I came home from work today and found this mayfly in the bathtub.
Can anyone ID it for me. I am not at all clued up on my species.
I was surprised to see it in the tub as i live a long way from any river or water at all.

Thanks

It's a male spinner and I'd guess it's of the Large Dark Olive (Beatis rhodani).

Hope that helps

Male spinner - Lake or Pond olive?.

I don't have my reference books but I was thinking Pond Olive Cloeon dipterum as they breed in ditches and small ponds.

Matt

Sounds like your bath would be a good place for a first cast

It is a bit hard to tell from the image but going by the hatching on the leading edge of the wings I would say Lake Olive as there is less hatching on the Pond Olive.
