Default Amphipods

Here's an interesting one, a recently discovered relative of our very own freshwater shrimp, Gammarus pulex, providing a distinct challenge for our fly tyers - 10/0 B100 perhaps? LINK

As the guy who sent me the link said, could this be the next thing to turn up in Cardiff Bay?

Easy....sussed it! A big shark hook, lay down a base layer of thread, coat with super glue, feed hook through captured shrimp, apply thin coat of UV resin to entire shrimp ensuring you get it into every recess, light curing as you go. Then a coat of clear nail varnish...allow to dry...then pantone pen to colour shrimp in fish attracting colours (those one's look a bit bland) a bit epoxy dust/glitter to give a bit flash if required. Then another coat of UV resin to make sure its all sealed up before finally varnishing. Jobs a goody
