It's a ICHNEUMON SUSPICIOSUS. Found from Spring to late Autumn. Feeds on nectar. It lays it eggs in caterpillars of various moths. Hibernates throughout winter.

They look very similar to group of wasps that have been tunneling individual holes into a sandy bank by my shed, I noticed these ones occasionally carrying/ dragging in a housefly presumably to lay eggs inside?

It doesn't have a common name.
SUSPICIOSUS?
Perhaps the scientists couldn't think of anything for it!
