The standard of pictures for entomological purposes for this site is outstanding

Alas, I must now sully it with this effort, for which I hope it will serve a purpose.

Anyway, I accidentally bought a fine mesh net today, and somehow found myself sifting a local river These little chaps were fairly ubiquitous (and nowt else really). I believe it to be Ephemeroptera Baetis - but can you tell what 'shade and shape' it will turn out to be?

BTW it was tiny - no more than about 2 opr 3mm - what would be a typical small spate river size for this beastie be when it surfaces?
