Default Caseless caddis and identifacation help

A couple of pictures fron our insect monitoring outing on Friday on the Calder.
The last one we were not sure of, could it be some sort of Dragon Fly, it came out of the Pupul sack shown next to it in the picture.

Hi' Gary, the bottom shot is one of a caddis pupa. Could be either the pupa of a cased or a caseless caddis. Cased caddis larvae pupate in their own cases; caseless caddis larvae build a sort of 'half-walnut shell' of fine grit etc; both usually attached to a stone on the river bed. If you took the pupa from a cylindrical case, it was originally a caseless larva. Ja

Hi Gary
The bottom one as i said in my post ("bottom two") the extracted body next to its case is Rhyacophilidae looking at general coloration. There are two other Tricoptera sp that pupate in these type of brown case (length size being indicator) but Rhyac is your main suspect if it was above 15mm long.
If you lift a full case to light you can often see the tell tale green hue through the case.

The one i didn't comment on is Hydropsychidae (???) but not happy to comment any further as the pic is poor and sample could do with a good rinse to highlight some definition.
