Default unknown larvae

A fishing /Gardening friend of mine showed me these larvae that have infested his garden.hopefully someone wil know what they are.

They look as if they have started to pupate - vine weevil grubs maybe?

I think they have started to pupate.but still had a fair bit of movement.

Could be Crane fly/Daddy Longlegs too.

I thought that but Leather Jacket's (Crane Fly Larvae) don't have the bulbous fore-quarter pictured above. They're more of a giant maggot!! I would go with Vine Weevil Larvae too.

Had a wee google for docken grubs and,found Chafer grubs,they are very similar to the ones in the photo.
