Default Insect Monitoring on the River Calder

A couple of pictures from yesterday's monitoring.

Olive Nymph (Baetidae)

It was great to watch this Olive hatch from the specimen tray.

Hi Gary
The hatching Beatidae is probably the Large Dark Olive (Beatis rhodani). The Hepagenid is one of the two Rhithrogena species; from its state of development it's probably an Olive Upright nymph (Rhithrogena semicolorata)
