Hi MJ
The fly, it's hindwings and the body markings look very like the illustrations for Siphlonurus croaticus in John Goddards 'Trout Flies of Britain & Europe' but he states the adults hatch in May and are about 15 mm body length.

Could it be a late emerger?

It does look like the picture in Goddard's book for the Large Summer Dun but I think it is more likely to be the Autumn Dun, Ecdyonurus dispar.

Hi Fishtales
I can see where your coming from, but it looks to me as though the hindwing you can just see is much larger than in Ecdyonurus and more like Siphlonurus; the ventral markings are also very much like the 'pencil' illustration given by John Goddard - hence my guess (and a main emergence in June is another pointer)

Default Possibly another Siphlonurid?

How about Ameletus inopinatus (Siphlonuridae)

Smeđa jednodnevka in Serb - would the name be familiar madjoni? They are listed as a November Balkan species.

It seems that insects from Adriatic basin are a bit strange. This must be some adriatic "giga/mega - Ecdyonurus or Siphlonurus". We need more pictures.
