Default Caddis - Ideas?

I photographed this little guy awhile ago but didn't take any other notes. Not much to go on but any ideas as to ID?

Steve I would make a guess at Potamophylax in the Cinamon sedges, But its beyond my ability to guarantee that with any authority.
Even with the size and the flight period its tricky. You really need to look at its genitalia to be sure.
In future if you get any why not photo them then send the sample to Stuart crofts with a date of collection and a grid reference, He will be able to give you a specific identity on any British adult caddis Pennine Fly Fishing Guides

I'd go with the Large Cinnamon Sedge - Potamophylax latipennis.

The attached image was taken in September 2009 - the identification key I'm using is the FBA scientific publication No.28 (dated 1973); it's a bit (a big bit!) complex but my best attempts came up with Potamophylax latipennis. I think the two images look very similar.

p.s. the dimension of 22 mm is overall, excluding appendages

They do indeed but your photo is so much nicer than mine! I've been meaning to build a small photo booth for these photos rather than the very basic shots on a white piece of paper. I just need to find some time and the right sort of prop to sit the bugs on (without resorting to plagiarism).

Steve
My macro 'studio' is very high tech.

It's mainly comprised of a large cluttered computer desk, assorted coloured card (mainly blue or grey), a few twigs and 2 pots to support the piece of twig selected (Edit - forgot, also got a couple of stones)

:-) More high tech than a piece of A4 paper! By "booth" I simply mean cutting a few pieces of diffuse white soft board and sticking them together with tape to help with even lighting. That and some grey card for the backdrop.

I love your shots. You should build a dedicated website for them (or a book).

Good images; especially the second - is that a stack?
