A great fishery for the thinking angler, some days very hard others fish there socks off, always keeps you on your toes, bootiful in the summer months , its full of wildlife, some lovely browns upto double figures as do the bows. C&R water at £25 for a day Gaz

Anyone been there recently? Thought I'd pop over on Sunday to knock the rust off, and I'm curious to know if it's fishing alright after the long, hot summer.

It has been productive for me in the evenings recently, before the last few frosts which might have changed things. I don't normally get there till 3pm so cant say what the mornings may bring. Fish were rising freely on entrance end of lake 1 last weekend, could spot them in lakes 3 and 2 but not to be tempted.

Most up to date info in the Catch Reports section on Complete Fisher Forum :: Index.

Please note that the mere is closed from the 25th of October till the 9th of next for annual hols.

Hope you have a good day out
Roger

Thanks for that, Roger. Sounds reasonably promising.

Fishing quite well at the moment. Have had a few fish every trip and I only fish a few hours usually in the evening.

Had 4 on sunday evening in 2hrs, 1 brown on a deer hair sedge off the top from lake 1, 2 from lake 3 on mayfly nymph and apps fished washing line style and 1 from lake 2 on a buzzer emerger at last knockings - while daydreamings watching the mayflies coming off
