I was there too. The methods were to present the flies near/on the surface and hope for the best. Retrieves and flies varied. Blobs, Boobies, Wets, Dries and Nymphs.

The main area was in front of the dam drifting straight across.

There were alot of fish jumping clear of the water. But there were sippers up and if you could get on it quick you stood a chance. All day we saw fish and it was hot and clear.

There was nothing in all the spooned fish.

The fish were nice fish but they all looked like stockies at the weigh in that I saw.

Yes it was a hard day but the opportunities were there. The rod average was low and the fishing was 'Challenging'.

But it was a day out and I had a good boat partner. We ended the day with three each and were pleased with that considering the conditions.

Default Eyebrook - 29-06-2010

A small group of us fished Eyebrook today.

There were a few fish caught in the morning, I'm not sure how things went in the afternoon. By lunchtime my boat partner had two on but lost both, I had a single take and landed a nice 3lb 10oz Rainbow . The fish took the small Hare's Ear booby I was using with the washing line method.

A colleague had two to dry flies (from 7 takes), others had one or none.

A bit of a hard day, but at least I was fishing.

Default getting back to normal

I fished the floating line only heat of the lexus on Fri 2nd- rod avg 4.14 from 36 anglers. 8 andglers had 8 fish limits. Mine was at 14:25 and my boat partner at 13:50

Fish were all in top 2' - caught on FAB on point and 2 crunchers on droppers. 50/50 number of fish to the FAB and the nymphs. Not all recent stockies either...... 4 of mine were all over 3lb....
Boat partner was similar method. Keep the flies high enough in the water and the fish are there - conditions were overcast in morning and then sunny from midday onwards.

Water temp being high @ 19 degrees probably has a lot of impact on the fishing - once it cools eyebrook will be it's usual quality self I am sure.

Thumbs up Eyebrook

fished there on Thurday shared the bank with at the most 4 other anglers and right pleasant it was as well, spent 45 mins watching a pair of Osprey's hunting brilliant you cant pay a price for that, and finished with one stocky for the pot. Not a busy day but enough to keep me interested after a week at the desk and staring at a computer screen and what brilliant surroundings.

Default Eyebrook report 12th April 2011.

Eyebrook Trout Fishery Report

Weekly Report 4th to 11th April 2011

Trout taken this week 729, Rod returns 185, Fish per rod 3.94
The superb game fishing continues at Eyebrook, a total of 993 rods have now accounted for 4143 fish, a rod average of 4.17

BOAT FISHING. Last weekend Eyebrook played host to ‘Fly Fishing and Fly Tying’ magazine editor Mark Bowler accompanied by contributor Mike Duxbury. They boat fished above the Chestnut tree and enjoyed steady sport throughout the day on buzzer patterns. (Read about it in the magazine soon!!) Dave Wainwright of Medbourne also boat fished at the Chestnut tree and caught his limit bag on Buzzers. Andrew Howell and Eric Mawby representing Norfolk fly fishers enjoyed two days of glorious boat fishing at Eyebrook recently; the pair caught many good fish on Buzzers. Richard Callis of Loughborough boat fished and used the washing line tactic to great effect taking a limit bag for 20lb 9oz from the main basin. Jonathan Greig made an early morning trip from Guildford for a spot of Eyebrook boat sport and topped his catch of twelve rainbows with a 9lb 2oz specimen; Jonathon took all his fish on Black buzzers from the Willows area.

BANK FISHING. Eyebrook again is on top form with many limit bags of trout taken from all points of the fishery, Chris Green of Leasingham opted to fish from the Bell and took a nice brace on Buzzers. Dave Chadwick of Ashley decided to fish Buzzers on the ‘Bung at Robbo’s cabin and took four rainbows for 12lb 2oz; Dave also caught and released several other good fish. Best fishing tactics at the moment seem to be floating lines with a Goldhead or similar tadpole on the point, and a Buzzer or Diawl bach on a dropper.

Fish are presently taking the fly readily at Eyebrook and we courteously request that all anglers who practice catch and release do so with great care. May we remind anglers that the fishery has the right to refuse access to those who abuse catch and release policy.

And for all the up to the minute fishery news and those essential boat bookings call the Fishing Lodge on 01536 772930 or Visit the Eyebrook website at www.eyebrook.com
