Default UK faces legal action from Europe over sewage pipes

At last
Story by Jeremy Cooke Rural affairs correspondent, BBC News

So why are the surfers doing this alone?
Why aren't we anglers standing side-by side and sharing the cost and effort?
Where are the AT/FishLegal?

About bloody time, and yes, we should be standing up to be counted on this one.

If you are a member of Fish Legal you should know as the issue is referred to in their Spring Newsletter.

All my newsletter says is they lost their CSO action and the EA buckled under industry pressure & allowed the rewording to get them off the hook. It doesn't say how Fish Legal will join with other concerned parties who are going down the legal route or even mention the EC action. It doesn't even say they'll continue fighting this one.

Is this just a case of the sufers being better at PR? or are they simply more determined to see a successful outcome?

Is neither, Eu Directives are as the word state directives, companies accused of polluting, and this includes water and sewarage companies/ local authority departments, always win the argument of costs of improvements versus jobs/benefits.
I have yet to see a local authority sewarage department taken to court and convicted because their sewarage works cant cope with volumes generated by flash floods/ heavy rainfall!
