Default Wild Fishing Forum are now elitest's

Wild fishing Forum have a nice sign on their web pages "NO STOCKIE BASHERS"
The Wild Fishing Forum - Index

I wrote a reply to a thread which mentioned this sign and they BANNED me because of it, I wasn't offencive or rude, I just pointed out that the sign could be misunderstood. It could portray that the users of that site were superior too other fly fishers or that they were eletest's.

The act of them banning me and removing my post just proves that they do think they are elitest and superior to the rest of us.I thought the point of forum's was to air views and opinions, i have read much more damaging post's on their site but obviously the ADMIN person either agreed with it or it was one of his friends. Doesn't sound like a forum to me.

I am glad this "Fly Fishing Forums" are more open minded and cover more topics than the one mentioned above, keep up the good work lads.

I read your post and I was going to reply to it but got distracted.

The WFF is not elitest but it doesn't have any interest in fishing for stocked fish. There are other places to discuss that. Like here for instance. this is a fine place to post controversial views and stir up an argument. You will get plenty takers so happy fishing and i hope you bag up.

Could you please explain the term "NO STOCKIE BASHERS" to me as I really don't fully understand it?

Thanks!

Bobby

Stockie bashers is a term used for people who fish for rainbow trout on stocked waters. It refers to stocked fish being easy to catch hence giving them a bashing (catching) because they are easy.

A can of worms spring to mind!

I dont think your description is completely correct.

Not all fisheries stock too many fish that are put in one day and pulled out the next.

A lot of these so called stalky bashers just need a little bit of education which will hopefully counter act the gold fever syndrome.

They do fish on waters that are stocked with brown trout, so that would make them stockie bashers by there terms. They try and say that they are wild even if they are stocked, can of worms i know but i know loads of waters that they write about that are stocked at the start of each season.

"They do fish on waters that are stocked with brown trout"

I don't, at least not for some time. At least to my knowledge. Although when it comes to Scottish wild waters it is hard to know in many places.

So what waters are you talking about then Gordie?

Oh yes. Why are you so upset? What is it to you what this despicable bunch of hypocrites do? Splitters the lot of them.

Hi Zeolite

Loch Leven is a prime example of a stocked water with brownies, don't know about now but it was. Loch Park in Moray, Upper river Spey, Glenlatterach are just a couple of the top of my head up here.

The reason i am up[set as you say is this is the second time i have been banned for saying something on a thread that they didn't like. I could understand if i was abusive, rude or threatening, which i wasn't, all i was doing was saying my point of view which a forum is for.

River Lossie also.

Over 20 yrs ago when it was polluted and destroyed a very good river which is still not yet back to what it was before, but a very nice river, the polluters decided in good faith(guilt) to restock, placing it in the local paper, front page of all places and then telling all where they put them and rather than spread them throughout the system, put them in the same place,It was like combat fishing,No I wasnt one,but many went home with bags and bags of newly stocked fish.

River Clyde, Loch/River Earn, Loch Kinardochy, various ressies ive seen mentioned just a few places that spring to mind and the Loch with the Brook Trout must surely have been stocked...now where is that again

Loch Kinardochy -

The water contains typical highland brown trout, which are stocked as yearlings by the club.

Stockie bashers

p.s dont forget New Zealand a once pristine wild environment which was stocked with Brown and Rainbow Trout.
