Default Zebra Mussels not in TFF

Just as a by the way thread prompted by the Killer Shrimp thread, Google Dr David Aldridge, for the possible solution [there's a pun in there somewhere] to Zebra mussels.
I might just drop him a line to see if he has any input on the Killer Shrimp.

Like they say at Tesco : Every little helps! All information gleaned is a positive move toward a greater knowledge of any problematic situation, especially from someone who's seeking a solution.

I did 'google' him, I got this thread - yes honest - and Zoology: AEG - David Aldridge "Research Interests
My work focuses on applied freshwater ecology, with a particular emphasis on bivalve molluscs."

I'm afraid any pun flew straight over my head. What was your point? Does Grafham also have Zebra mussels?
So does Cardiff Bay, where harbour workers monitoring this invasive species recently discovered another invasive: Dikerogammarus vilosus tracked back to the Grafham water infestation by documented dinghy momements (following yachting competitions), I do hope Grafham has improved its totally inadequate biosecurity, which I understand then only consisted of dilute Virkon disinfectant.

Yes it does!
The point was the difficulty in treating large areas of water. Perhaps I should have made that a bit clearer. I won't try to explain the pun!!

It's actually high pressure washing of boots, nets, etc. etc. I've never seen any disinfectant in use. The same measures are employed at the Sailing Club I believe?
