Default clay lane fishery - Mobberly

clay lane fishery in Mobberly was the destination of choice to go fishing on Thursday.
the lake appeared to be heavily stoked with decent size fish... some i could see in the water reaching up to 8-9Lbs on the far end of the small lake.
as for the overall quality of the fish them selfs.... in my novice opinion the fish
didnt seem as lively as fish i have seen and caught from rivers or from big reservoirs.
it appeared to me that the fish were abit lifeless like ornamental Koy Carp.
there was no real action if you get me... abit flaccid, the rainbows especially.

we caught nothing in the hour that we went for...but next time we will be better prepared

the place is defently a good place to go for a more relaxed day fishing,
nothing too adventurous but well worth 2-50 an hour

I have fished there a few times and it always seems fairly busy. I suppose a small place doesn't require too many people to start to look crowded.

Last time I went, the far half of the lake was frozen so you could only fish 50%.

As you say, if you are local and you suddenly get the urge then it is a pleasant few hours. For longer than that I would get bored.

Hi Chizzers,

It may be that the water temperature is high and oxygen levels are low, especially if it's a small fishery, although with all the rain we've had recently it should have freshened everywhere up?

Mind that strategically placed hedgerow! - planted to enure your fly spends more time out of the water than in it!

No fools those owners!!
