Question Suffolk (UK) recommendations?

I'm working in Suffolk over the next couple of weeks and have a spare day - can anyone recommend any trout fisihing, river or stillwater? Preferably within reasonable distance of Sudbury.

Plus any clues as to what it takes to catch fish....

thanks.

Unhappy and answer came there none

I've found this place

LarkWood
...but some local knowledge would be good as it looks a bit small and stockified, however I may be doing it a dis-service.

and then there's this list
Aargh- the EA

but there are very few game fisheries of any description, and it doesn't even include LarkWood....

apparently there are chalk streams in the area - but I can't find the fishing on them...

Don't know about the fishing but it is a good county for beer which may be some consolation!!

Larkwood is great.

This is a little gem of a place tucked away in the middle of nowhere (well, a village called West Stow - follow the signs to the Anglo-Saxon Village and you won't go wrong). It is run by a fisherman for fisherman - and it shows. The lakes are quite small, but not holes in the ground - set in mature natural environment. Quality of fish are high - and the fishing is not easy. Technique of the day when I was there was a buzzer on an indicator - not my normal style of fishing, and I took a couple on a reasonable big PTN. Although there were damsels about...and I saw 2 Mayfly.

Recommended and very reasonable. If I am there again I will make a point of going.
