A mate of mine lived in Dubai for 5 years until recently. He did a bit of flyfishing from the shore - but there were complex licence issues - so beware going out on your own without the correct paperwork.

Locally there were also issues with turbid water as a result of all the land reclaimation projects.

He ended up travelling away to fish for GT's in Oman.

I suggest you quiz the guides before you go......
