Default Loch Forfar

We're or rather the OH & my daughter are planning a weeks holiday for us all in Scotland, next to Lock Forfar, I wasn't very interested until the mentiond it was next to fishing.

Can anyone tell me a bit about the fishing, what sort of prices & is it any good

Thanks in anticipation....... Paul

Paul,
never heard of any fishing on Loch Forfar but Rescobie Loch on the other side of Forfar has great fishing.

Not certain but I seem to remember being told it was course fishing there. As the previous post mentions, Rescobie Loch is just the other side of town and that is well worth a visit, if you can get on, there are some very big fish come out of there.

Contact Neil Anderson in the fishing shop Forfar he will give you details, don't think its is stocked and is bank fishing. There id Rescobie or lintrathen Kingennie or layatt near Dundee. If you want wild browns ther is the Backwater behind Lintrathen. If you need phone numbers give me a pm.

They're planning on going early september but this would meen a week out of my usual fortnights fishing in stboswells

They're thinking about the caravan club site at the side of the loch, although I like the smaller sites & prefer river fishing
but were staying in amble northumberland for spring-bank week, so I'm hoping to have a day out & visit forfar to get an idea of the countryside & some of the places mentioned.
It might even be worth talking them out of this year then we could pop up & explore more of angus on a sunday while we're at stboswells, then book a cottage there for next year, rather than taking the caravan.

thanks for the help.....Paul
