Question Belize El Pescador

Hello Folks.
Happy New Year to you all.
A query about El Pescador ...Has anyone been there and can tell me what the situation is regarding Mozzies and sand flies? Are they bad or just annoying? I'm going for a week at the beginning of March. If something is going to bite then it will inevitably head in my direction! I have plenty of insect repellant with deet, but do you recommend also taking bug killer to spray in the room in the evening?
I'm getting really excited now. Only 9 weeks to go.

you cn try a plugin for evenings in the room but spraying deet around a room isn't really very clever...it'll burn through all kinds of stuff and won't make much difference anyway. Deets really frowned on by a lot of folks these days use it as springily as you can.

Far better to try covering up from dusk which is when the sandflies normally come out, and maybe take a mozzy net for your bed if your hotel doesn't have them / has poorly screened rooms. You can spray yourself when going out after dark for dinner and drinks. Thats what i do anyway, and i'm like you - i get anything and everything loving to bite me...!

I am like you, If it bites it will bite me lol, The first time i went to Belize i was bitten the first night i was there, After that i would just spray a little bit of deet on me and never had a problem again. You do not need a lot of deet to keep the buggers away, Good luck and enjoy your trip.
