Default Fly fishing Turkey

Hello. I am off to Turkey for a week in September and I was wondering if anyone had been fly fishing there? I have fished in Mexico last year and that was awesome. Bonefish off the hotel beach!
I was hoping someone could give me some advice about Turkey and what type of fish I can expect to catch from the coast? I am going to the Antalya region if that makes a difference.
Many thanks.

I went to the El Dorado Seaside Suites in the Riviera Maya. Take some string line with you though as the bonefish have a habit of going in the coral and cutting your line. There aren't any places to get flies from either so take plenty.

Hi,

Fished Turkey back in December 2008, it was just the standard winter sun holiday however packed the 4 piece (now a 6 piece after last weeks pollack encounter!).

I was in Side, not a great deal of success, one small barracuda. Plently of baitfish but nothing feeding on them. A visit to one of the local food markets showed bass, mullet, bream and a bonito type of fish as the most common species landed. However I didn't see any while fishing.

Must be fish there, possibly look to quieter spots away from resorts...?

The Turks however love their fishing, even the shop fronts had lines stretching out into the sea. It is great way of meeting the locals I found and all I spoke took a real interest in the fly rod as it was something different! Really enjoyed that

Good luck
