Hi Folks,
Got a family holiday booked for a week adventuring on Arran. We do have one day and a few evenings to do our own thing, so.... I was wondering if anyone had been there on a fishing trip. We are staying in Loch Ranza which has a small estuary, there are also a couple of hill lochs and the river itself but I haven't a clue who to contact regarding fishing them. Anyone got any ideas?

regarding fishing on Arran i do not know much about it,but google Arran estates, or Shiskins fishing and you should come up with some thing.i know there is a web site for the fishing as i have looked at it be fore sorry cant be of more help,
if you use the search at the top of the page you may find some thing. enjoy your stay as it is a nice island

Hi Alan

I visited Arran over 20 years ago and fished Machrie Water, a lovely tiny river with a tidal pool in sight of the sea.

Quite a lot of Sea Trout and a few Grilse - I managed a Sea Trout

No problem getting a day ticket then

I appreciate it was a long time ago but I hope it helps

By the way the sea fishing was also excellent for small cod and Pollack
