Question Fishing in Tenerife?

Hi There, I'm off to Tenerife for a while shortly, can anyone give any advice in this regard? I am more interested in shore fishing ie, rocks, hopefully with the fly rod but also open to other forms.

Depending on where you are, is a collosal amount of mullet in the harbours and jetties on the island, will take white bodied flies (they think it is bread flakes! a favourite bait of locals), however some marinas/harbours dont allow fishing.
is good spinning of rocks for cuda and smaller shark in some areas.
lots of deep sea boats doing half or full day hires, bottom fishing for all species, some really big rays can be caught (had them up to 250lbs) also trolling for marlin, tuna and wahoo in season.
where you are staying,? i might have been there!
regards
bert

I went fishing in the marinas whilst I was there using white deer hair flies with a bit of bread thrown in to liven the mullet up. There are some nice sized mullet around.

I don t think fishing is allowed but interestingly the port police came and chatted to me and asked how I was doing and were not bother so?

Just remember to buy a fishing licence (€14.38) from the local Municipal office, it lasts 3 years.
Police are clamping down with a €120 fine for being caught without one; That was my first priority 3 weeks ago when I was in Fuerteventura
