Default DIY on Isla de Cozumel, Mexico

Hi
has anyone flicked a salty fly along the shores of South-West Cozumel in Mexico? I've got plenty of DIY info for the mainland opposite (Playa Del Carmen area and down the Mayan Riviera) but I'm looking at Cozumel now for a family holiday with added swff'ing as it's alot less developed, there's plenty of empty beach between the resorts (a huge amount around the south and east of the island), and the shoreline looks superb. I expect what's good for the mainland is probably good for the Island, but just wondered if anyone had been there? Any pointers or views gratefully received!

hi buddy,
I had some great fishing on the island with a guide called Adolfo Vazquez of cozumel fly fishing, the flats we fished were quite a drive then a boat ride away, i dont know if there is any diy on the island, i booked him through one of the guys at the ferry terminal, but he told me if i was coming back to call him direct. The guy really knows his stuff and put me onto loads of bones, had a great time with him.
regards,

That's really helpful, thanks, as I was going to look for some guided fishing there too. I know the flats fishing is on the north of the island, but the west coast looks extremely fishy indeed (not flats style exactly, but shallow coral and sand - snapper, 'cuda, jacks, permit, snook and tarpon hopefully) as it mirrors the coast opposite on the mainland, but with a lot less development and pressure.
