Hi all

I'm heading to northern Portugal at the end of June and staying abount 2km from the River Neiva in a town called Alvaraes. From the few pictures I can find the river looks superb and ideal for trout.

So has anyone out there ever fished it or have any information they can pass on.

Seems it has a run of seatrout, like many of the rivers in the Minho Region. Tis year has been wet, so fishing should be good at that time but there will be a ot of water. Keep us posted on how things go

Update:

Only got to fish once. Went to a part of the river just below a weir. It was a very picturesque location and ok weather for fishing (the only overcast day) but failed to catch. Saw a lot of small fish in the water and a few rose to dry flies but couldn't connect. Still had a great holiday and got a nice tan so not too dismayed with not catching.
